Mr. Kugler is a partner in the firm's patent prosecution group. His practice focuses primarily on patent prosecution and client counseling in the areas of mechanical, electro-mechanical, chemical and process engineering.
This includes oil and gas, mining, electronics and battery technology, environmental, manufacturing, and outdoor consumer products related to archery, firearms and ballistics. Bruce is also a Registered Professional Engineer in Colorado and has seven years of engineering experience.
Bruce also provides counsel in the areas of trademark law, litigation and licensing. He represents and manages the IP portfolios of numerous international companies including an international metal packaging company, a Japanese electronics company, and the world’s largest manufacturer of precast concrete. Bruce has also testified as an expert witness in a downhole drilling mud motor case.
Bruce received his bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, where he currently sits on the Board of Technology Transfer. Prior to attending law school at the University of Denver, he attended the United States Air Force Academy and worked for seven years offshore of Louisiana in the oil and gas industry as a Petroleum Engineer with Tenneco and Atlantic Richfield Corp. Bruce is a Colorado native who enjoys skiing, cycling, bow hunting and most outdoor activities in the Rocky Mountains.
