Dr. Traver is a patent attorney with experience in the areas of chemistry, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology. Rob’s practice is rooted in intellectual curiosity, and a passion for science — a former pharmacist with a degree in Pharmacy, Rob has dedicated his career to research and development efforts.

“I love learning about the changes in technology that my clients are developing. And having worked as a pharmacist, I understand the real-world implications of the work I’m doing,” he says.

Rob’s practice emphasizes all aspects of domestic and foreign patent prosecution in pharmaceuticals, chemistry, biochemistry, therapeutic and diagnostic methods, nutraceuticals, and personalized medicine, as well as licensing, opinions, and due diligence reviews.

He has also worked on and developed intellectual property portfolios related to medical devices, mechanical inventions, and materials science. Regardless of technology, Rob’s focus is on helping his clients see the potential of their intellectual assets while balancing the realities of corporate budgets and timelines.

“We are working on projects with a focus to prosecute to allowance, and we have a good track record of advancing ideas to allowance, even as patent law has evolved, we’ve been able to help clients figure out how to protect their ideas,” he says.

Before joining Sheridan Ross, Rob conducted toxicological and molecular research on the role of phase II metabolism in cancer and the efficacy of anti-cancer compounds. He also teaches patent law in the Bioinnovation and Entrepreneurship Program at the University of Colorado, Denver.
