Position Summary
Sheridan Ross P.C. is seeking an entry-level Patent Agent or Patent Agent trainee in the engineering field with 0-2 years of technical experience and strong academic credentials. Candidates must have a B.S. degree and a strong interest in electrical and computer engineering technologies. Additionally, candidates should be motivated self-starters with superb communication and writing skills, a commitment to excellence, and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Functions – with training included
- Draft and prosecute US patent applications
- Coordinate responses to foreign office actions
Job Requirements
Education
- Engineering degree, preferably electrical
Experience
- 0-2 years of technical experience
Other Requirements
- Ability to quickly grasp new concepts in electrical, electronic, electromechanical, and software engineering disciplines
- All candidates should be admitted or eligible to be admitted to practice before the USPTO
- Strong work ethic
- Superb writing and organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment with a great attitude

Base Salary Range: $80,000-$100,000 with a 1750 billing expectation
