Daniel Sokoloff is an associate in Sheridan Ross’s litigation practice, where he focuses on intellectual property disputes, including complex patent litigation.

Daniel has experience handling patent matters in federal district courts, before the U.S. International Trade Commission and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. His practice has included patent infringement disputes involving pharmaceuticals and biologics under the Hatch-Waxman Act and the Biologics Price Competition and Innovation Act, as well as matters involving telecommunications, automotive technologies, semiconductor and memory technologies, software, design patents and other complex technical subject matter.

Daniel has managed significant portions of cases from early-stage analysis through discovery, claim construction, expert work and trial preparation. He has drafted contentions on issues of infringement/noninfringement and validity/invalidity, Markman briefs, dispositive and discovery motions, expert reports and settlement agreements; worked closely with technical experts; prepared witnesses for depositions; and first- and second-chaired depositions. He also has experience conducting pre-suit analyses and developing litigation strategy with clients and trial teams.

His technical foundation complements his litigation practice. Daniel earned his B.A. in Biology, with additional engineering coursework, from Johns Hopkins University and his law degree from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, where he was a Washington University Scholar in Law and participated in the Wiley Rutledge Moot Court Competition. He is also registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Before entering private practice, Daniel gained experience with the intellectual property group at General Electric and the Civil Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida.
