Patrick Sandoval is a registered patent agent who focuses his work on drafting patent applications for electrical, electromechanical, and medical device technologies. A former U.S. Patent Examiner, Patrick leverages his deep experience with all phases of the patent drafting and prosecution process on behalf of U.S. and international clients alike. Patrick’s technical expertise is focused on telecommunications (5G, LTE, WLAN), neural networks, multimedia (image sensors, image capture, and graphics processing), home security, smart devices, and software programs for medical applications.
Having worked with an intellectual property law firm in South Korea for five years, he is particularly skilled at helping clients understand the nuances of implementing international protection strategies. While living in South Korea, Patrick also provided counseling and in-house training sessions to Korean patent attorneys regarding U.S. patent prosecution matters. Before his time abroad, Patrick worked at the U.S. Patent Office, where he examined patent applications related to computer-aided design and analysis of circuits and semiconductor masks. Before joining Sheridan Ross, Patrick handled U.S. patent preparation and prosecution matters across a range of technologies for a regional law firm.
In addition to his patent experience, Patrick worked as a hardware engineer with a high-speed satellite internet service company, specializing in analog ASIC design, fabrication, and testing. Patrick earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from The George Washington University.
