Tara Hawkes is an associate in the Litigation Department of Sheridan Ross P.C. Her practice focuses on patent and trademark infringement as well as trade secret disputes.
Prior to joining Sheridan Ross, Tara served as a valuable resource with The Commons here in Denver assisting entrepreneurs with all aspects of starting a new business, including intellectual property protection. “I enjoy going to battle for the people I work with on something that is important to them and working very hard to execute my client's ideas into existence,” she says.
Prior to attending law school, Tara worked as a Clinical Research Coordinator where she collaborated with surgeons and device manufacturers in the clinical design and research of orthopedic devices. She oversaw the presentation and design of these devices, drafted study protocols and ensured IRB compliance. “I recognized the importance of design and technology which sparked my interest to pursue law school to protect intellectual property.”
Tara earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Denver. She received her law degree from the University of Denver Strum College of Law.
