As a registered patent attorney with a decade of experience in patent law, Mr. Weitzel has successfully prepared and prosecuted hundreds of patent applications. His clients benefit from his technical and business background and entrepreneurial spirit with various high-tech enterprises and even securing patents for his own inventions. Mr. Weitzel's clients rely on his ability to develop and execute on an IP strategy that fits their business objectives as well as their budgets.
Prior to joining Sheridan Ross, Mr. Weitzel was a senior patent attorney at Avago Technologies, Inc., a multinational electronic component manufacturer. At Avago, Scott was responsible for managing thousands of patents, training in-house patent professionals, overseeing outside patent counsel, due diligence analysis, supporting litigation activities and developing patent processes. Mr. Weitzel developed and oversaw processes governing the entire patent life cycle, from innovation through post-allowance and maintenance fee review.
Prior to his career in law, Mr. Weitzel served as a software engineer and software development project manager where he developed software applications for a diverse range of applications.
